baguette

i just finalized my menu for christmas eve dinner for my family.  a couple years ago, we were all about celebrating christmas eve at the finest restaurants in los angeles, and now they don't really want to go anywhere but chez jax.  while i never mind the cooking, i'm not usually looking my best for pictures after hours standing over a stove and oven.

one item i can cross off my to cook list? baguettes to accompany the soup and sides.  i love plating baguettes to dip into oil/vinegar, sop up soup, and generally fill people's bellies up when the food is all gone.

maybe someday i'll whip up my own, but i'm enjoying the getting up early and picking up a piping hot roll in my pajamas thing very much for now.
