i am always open to suggestions when it comes to jewelry. at some point, i started wondering if i was buying the wrong pieces. i mean, i don't think i've ever gone a whole day without shedding my jewelry. when i heard about actress kate bosworth and stylist cher coulter's new jewelry of the month site from a magazine, i was instantly intrigued and clicked on over to fill out the "style profile". the results came back, and i was presented with select "classic" pieces of jewelry in my showroom.
easy breezy! i could then choose to view more selections, or proceed to a more detailed page complete with styling tips, video, and inspiration.
each piece costs $29.99, and you won't get charged until you make your first purchase. the price point is reasonable, but my biggest question was of quality. whereas i do not mind paying $30 for a pair of earrings at a boutique, i would not pay over $10 for a pair of earrings at forever 21. i believe after you make your purchase, you still have the option of skipping the month if you don't want to purchase.
after checking out my selections for the month of january, i placed my first order:
is it a fan? an oyster? loved the vintage feel of these earrings, and the fact that they are "amplified studs". i love huge and dangly numbers, but those are usually the first things i shed during the day. my days are best suited for earrings that stay put.
shipping was prompt, and i received my earrings a couple days later.
they arrived in a nice mint green box..
with a sweet note..
exactly as advertised..
as for quality? i'm happy to report that these earrings are definitely boutique quality. they have a nice shine and weight to them, but feel like hardly anything when worn.
